  • Yes — in Ontario, you are legally required to have a lawyer handle the closing of any real estate transaction. Your lawyer ensures that the title is clear, all documents are properly prepared and registered, and the transaction is legally sound.

  • Right after your offer is accepted. Your lawyer will review the agreement, check the title, handle the closing paperwork, and make sure you don’t miss anything important. The earlier you involve us, the smoother the process will be.

  • Land transfer tax is a provincial tax you pay when you buy property in Ontario. If you’re purchasing in Toronto, there’s an additional municipal land transfer tax. First-time homebuyers may qualify for a partial or full rebate. We’ll calculate this for you and include it in your closing costs.

  • An assignment sale happens when a buyer sells their rights to purchase a property (usually a new-build condo or home) to another buyer before the original closing date. These deals involve unique legal and tax considerations — we can guide both assignors and assignees.

  • Legal fees for real estate transactions vary depending on the complexity of the file (residential vs. commercial, new build vs. resale, etc.). We offer flat-rate pricing for most residential deals and will always provide a clear quote up front.

  • We handle everything behind the scenes — transferring funds, registering your ownership, and sending you the keys once it’s done. You don’t need to be in court or at an office — just be reachable by phone or email in case we need to confirm anything.
